Sean was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois and studied History and Literature at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater (B.A.) before undertaking his postgraduate work at the School of Advanced Studies, University of London.
Sean has been involved in establishing JICAS from the very early stages and was appointed director in 2018. He also serves as the programme coordinator for the MSc Island Biodiversity and Conservation. In addition to his position with JICAS, Sean lectures at University College Jersey. His main research interests are 20th Century US social history and 20th Century Anglo-American political and social history.
